Following the success of their first ‘Elegance’ auction last December, iconic auction house

Christie’s is hosting their second 'Elegance' edition on the 25-26th May 2011. The auction will feature luxury items varying from jewellery to watches, and from Hermes handbags to Lalique glass mascots and vessels.

The jewellery selection is an assortment of 200 traditional and contemporary designs. Prices range from £800 to £25,000 with sale highlights such as a diamond-set stainless steel five time zone quartz wristwatch, by Jacob & Co. estimated on £2,000-3,000, and a diamond single stone ring from £25,000 to 30,000.

The last sale, nine Hermes bags sold like hotcakes for over £30,000 each. This May, will see over ten Hermes bags in exotic styles and made from crocodile. A classic graphite Birkin bag is estimated between £20,000 - £35,000. For those with a smaller budget there’s the Kelly bag for around £1,500.

As one of the only auction houses offering pieces by glassmaker Rene Lalique, Christy’s South Kensington will offer 150 lots estimated from £500 to £25,000. There is a single owner collection of 40 pieces with a Victoire car mascot dated from 1928 estimated on £8,00-£12,000.

Public viewings are taking place from 21-25th May, and the catalogues are available from 25th April.
