British fashion designer Christopher Raeburn is to become

the latest designer to collaborate on a womenswear collection with British heritage brand Barbour.

The collection is inspired by the label’s archived military designs and the brand’s highly celebrated Ursula suit, which was created in the Thirties and named after a U-class submarine. The original suit featured a jacket and a pair of trousers that was influenced by water-proof Barbour motorcycle gear, worn by a lieutenant, serving under the Ursula submarine commander Captain George Phillips.

The new range will feature jackets, knitwear, shirts and shirt dresses along with accessories like hats, gloves and scarves and will launch for Autumn/Winter 2014. No other details about the collection have been released except that the feminine line will blend Barbour’s tartan with Raeburn’s signature snow spot print.

The Barbour x Christopher Raeburn line will be available from August 2014.
