Cirque du soleil to open Harrods winter sale

World famous department store, Harrods, will begin its

much anticipated post Christmas winter sale with a performance by Cirque du Soleil.

The sale, which starts 26th December, and is being is being held in association with Macmillan Cancer Support, marks the 25th anniversary of Harrods sale openings, and is the first time that a performance act has declared the sale officially open.

A number of families who have benefited from Macmillan’s care in supporting children and adults suffering from cancer have been invited to watch the performance. Macmillan Cancer Support is Harrods’ corporate charity for 2012 to 2014.

Katharine Witty, group director of corporate affairs at Harrods, said: “We are very excited that Cirque du Soleil is opening the Harrods Sale. There is only one Harrods, and only one Cirque du Soleil, so it is a fitting collaboration and one that we are sure will entertain the crowds on Boxing Day.”
