Fashion and denim label Citizens of Humanity has

named two new creative directors. New Zealand-born designer Simon Miller will head up the men’s design, while women’s head designer Catherine Ryu has been promoted to women’s creative director.

Miller, who launched his eponymous jeans brand in 2006, which he has since departed, will showcase his first collection for the brand for autumn 2014. Ryu, who has been with Citizens since last year, will see her designs from the summer 2014 collection.

Citizens of Humanity founder and CEO Jerome Dahan said: “Simon and Catherine have a deep understanding and appreciation of denim, a sophisticated taste level and an understanding of how to fully build a brand and its image.

“Working with both of them to further develop the Citizens of Humanity brand, for men's and women's, is exciting for me and [partner and EVP of product development] Adriano Goldschmied.”

Citizens of Humanity president Amy Williams added: “As we continue to build our brand in the US and international markets, it’s critical to have the strongest possible design team that can lead both the product effort and overall creative direction of the company. It is an exciting time for the brand, especially with this fresh talent on the team.”
