Footwear retailer Clarks has launched on local retail options app Udozi, which allows

customers to search for items and check stock levels in nearby shops.

The free service, which can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or through its website, has more than 160 retailers signed up to the platform, which gives shoppers contact details, locations and opening times.

The partnership means that consumers will be able to locate their nearest Clarks store, search for specific items and check stock levels through the Udozi’s mobile app or website, plus they will be able to pick up their item in-store on the same day.

Nick Darby, UK programme and change management, Clarks said: “We place people at the heart of everything we do and people are increasingly using their favourite mobile services to interact with us. This partnership means that people can now use their phones and tablets to search for our stock making finding us and the shopping experience even easier, more convenient and more enjoyable.”

Alan Gabbay, founder of Udozi, added: “It’s been a great year for Udozi, and we’re really pleased to welcome such an iconic British retailer like Clarks on to our platform. Over the past few months we’ve witnessed a desperate struggle for survival from some of Britain’s most well-known stores, so it has never been more important for retailers, no matter how big or small, to build a solid mobile presence alongside their website and traditional high-street offering so they can engage with customers across all platforms.”

The service predominately in use with London and has a host of independent retailers using the app, as well as national retailers including Maplin and Toys ‘R Us.
