Diesel Black Gold names global creative director

Contemporary fashion label Diesel Black Gold has
appointed its womenswear creative director Andreas Melbostad as overall creative director, as part of its plans to create a “globally coordinated image” for the brand. Melbostad who joined the label last year will be adding the responsibility of overseeing the men’s collection to his current role as womenswear director, as well coordinating the overall image of the label. He will showcase his first Autumn/Winter 2014 menswear collection in January 2014."I am looking forward to my expanded role at Diesel Black Gold. I am excited to have the opportunity to work on building cohesive collections for both men and women,” said Melbostad. “It is an opportunity to create a singular vision for Diesel Black Gold and a strong distinct voice.”
Before joining Diesel Black Gold, the Norwegian designer worked as creative director of Phi, and prior to that, he was senior designer at Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Nina Ricci and he collaborated with Alber Elbaz both on the Guy Laroche and Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche collections.
