Disney collaborating with Louboutin

Shoe designer Christian Louboutin has been commissioned by Disney to create his own interpretation

of Cinderella’s infamous ‘glass slipper’, to celebrate the re-release of Walt Disney’s Cinderella on Blu-ray and DVD, which launches in September.

“Isn’t it everyone’s dream, to once in your life, be part of a fairy tale?” said Christian Louboutin. “Disney gave me a wonderful opportunity to live this magical moment. I have been so lucky to have crossed paths with Cinderella, an icon who is so emblematic to the shoe world as well as the dream world.”

The hope of the collaboration is to make the fairy tale fashionable again and will be formally revealed in July.

Louboutin isn’t the first fashion brand to partner with Disney, bridal designer Alfred Angelo has collaborated with the entertainment company on a collection of wedding dresses inspired by the Disney’s princesses.
