Dr Martens to open on Carnaby Street

As plenty of high street retailers are favouring pop up stores

as a way to best exhibit collections and excite consumer interest, Dr Martens, the globally recognised footwear brand has decided to buck the trend and focus on a new store celebrating the brand’s heritage.

The new store will open this month on London's Carnaby Street and will showcase the brand's contemporary footwear as well its latest clothing and accessories range. It forms part of Dr Martens retail store opening programme that has seen stores recently opened in both Glasgow and Manchester.

Contemporary interior and shop architecture has been designed to reflect each seasonal style – so Contemporary wall niches will house a special ‘Made in England’ zone to showcase products made in the Dr Martens original Northamptonshire factory. “Dr Martens is a welcome addition to Carnaby,” says Simon Quayle, director of property investment company Shaftesbury PLC.

“The brand fits in perfectly with our retail strategy of seeking flagship stores for exciting labels to complement the diverse mix of independent boutiques and concept stores in the area,” he continues.

“Carnaby Street is the perfect home for the brand, with its world famous fashion and music heritage,” adds Quayle.
