A collection of nearly 200 dresses, designed by Spanish couturier

Paco Rabanne, is set to go under the hammer at Parisian auction house Drouot later this month.

The pieces, originally owned by the Argentine opera company Grupo Acción Instrumental founders Jorge Zulueta and James Romano, features dresses designed for the catwalk that were later worn on stage for theatre and opera performances.

Set to take place on January 22, the auctioned collection ranges from the 1970s to early 90s, with highlights including a 1981 metallic and swan feather cocktail dress, a pair of ‘in the beak’ suede boots, and an apron dress from 1977 made from wooden beads, which is expected to fetch between 2,000 and 3.000 euros.

The extensive lot features dresses, coats, footwear, accessories and jewellery and is expected to raise more than 100,000 euros.
