Designer label Dsquared2 has secured the rights to distribute its collections in China after a court in Hangzhou

ruled that it was "legitimately allowed" to sell its designs in the region.

The battle came after the company was originally denied the right to operate in China because another company, Nuoche had already trademarked the Dsquared brand. Nuoche used its trademark to open stores using the label’s logo lettering as well as copy its products.

The verdict in favourite of designers Dean and Dan Caten means that Dsquared2 can now go ahead with their expansion plans into China, WWD reports.

International label, Dsquared2 was founded in 1984 and offers womenswear, menswear, accessories and last year the Milan-based brand announced the launch of its childrenswear line.
