Glasgow Caledonian University has awarded the title of honorary professor to Dylan Jones, editor of GQ

and chair of London Collections: Men in recognition of his “outstanding contribution to and achievements in journalism and the business of fashion”.

In addition, the university has also awarded Jones with the GCU Lifetime Achievement Award 2014, following the footsteps of previous recipients Ray Kelvin, founder of Ted Baker, Ian Grabiner, CEO of Arcadia and Derek Lovelock, chairman of Karen Millen, Oasis and Warehouse.

Commenting on his honour, Jones said: “I am delighted and honoured to receive such recognition, and I’m looking forward to collaborating with the University and its students. The GCU British School of Fashion is highly regarded for its fashion business post-graduate teaching and research, and as the business of fashion becomes ever more important to the economy, this is a timely moment to reflect on its growth and significance.”

Jones will be presented with both honours during the GCU London summer graduation ceremony taking place on July 2.
