eBay to launch Designer Collective

Fashion brands will soon be able to sell their current season collections on eBay's new Designer Collective platform.

eBay has been forging its ties with the fashion industry for several seasons and is hoping its online retail platform will mirror the success of its other market places.

The new Collective will feature 16 US-based brands including Calvin Klein, Nicole Miller and Elie Tahari, with the retailer collaborating with the brands on the design of their storefronts.

At launch the brands will only ship domestically and will regulate their own stock, rather than eBay managing the sales.

International designers will be available on the platform later this year, as will international shipping.
