Luxury sustainable fashion label, Edun, founded by US singer Bono and his wife Ali Hewson

in 2005, has appointed Danielle Sherman as its new creative director.

Sherman, who has worked at Alexander Wang since 2008 and was the design director of the T by Alexander Wang line, will replace Sharon Wauchob who is departing the label to focus on her eponymous label after designing for the brand for the past six seasons.

“Coming from her success with two well-respected brands, Danielle brings her experience and strong design sensibility to Edun,” said Edun co-founder Hewson. “Bono and I are impressed by her creativity and believe her unique approach and vision will help grow the brand.”

Antonio Belloni, managing director at LVMH, which acquired a 49 percent stake in the label in 2009, added: "The appointment of Danielle as full-time creative director marks a step-change in the development of Edun as a brand of fashion and meaning.”

Prior to taking up her role at Alexander Wang, Sherman was the design director at The Row, working alongside Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

Sherman begins work at Edun this week, and will report to chief executive officer Janice Sullivan.
