African design talent showcased their latest collections during the Arise Magazine

Fashion Week (AMFW) in Lagos, Nigeria. Womenswear label Eki Orleans was selected as one of the 50 designers to participate, and show its AW11 collections to press and buyers.

Eki Orleans was selected for her vibrant African inspired prints. The collection features a range of covetable silk, and also includes scarves, silk trousers and bikinis. The capsule Wave Collection was inspired by the designer’s childhood memories of time spent by the beach on the beautiful Atlantic coastline.

Launched in 2007, Hazel Aggrey-Orleans is the founder and creative force of Eki Orleans. Aggrey-Orleans grew up in Lagos and has Germanic roots. She developed the brand from an initial scarf collection into a womens ready-to-wear label.

AMFW Lagos 2011 took place from March 10-13th at the Federal Palace Hotel. Other African designers included Tiffany Amber place, Jewel By Lisa, Klûk CGDT, Christie Brown and Xuly Bët.
