El Corte Inglés available online for customers in the UK

Spanish department store chain, El Corte Inglés has begun its international

expansion phase and has begun offering online shopping and shipping to the UK, Ireland and The Netherlands. Previously the Spanish department store was only present in Spain and Portugal.

El Corte Inglés hopes to attract tourists who visit its mortar and brick stores in Spain and Portugal and retain them as online customers. The department store also aims to become an online platform for offering Spanish brands abroad.

“The intention is to support commercial activity related to the tourism in El Corte Inglés, by publicizing the offer of Spanish products and services, brands or collections before the visitors come to Spain,” explained the company in a press statement.

Online customers from the UK, Ireland and The Netherlands can visit and shop at www.elcorteingles.eu. The company adds that it hopes to introduce its online store to other European markets sometime in the near future.
