Ermenegildo Zegna Couture is taking Harrods shoppers on a trip into outer space. In honour of the launch
of the premium Italian menswear label exclusive collection, the brand has taken over the front windows at Harrods and create a unique installation built around astronomy, one of the theme's from Ermenegildo Zegna Couture's Fall/Winter show. The window display is based on the short film 'City and Nature – Scientist Cut' edited by astrophysicist Fiorella Terenzi, Professor of Astronomy at the International University of Florida, which was created for the brand's Milan Fall/Winter show.
Stefano Pilati, head of design at Ermenegildo Zegna Couture, worked together with Harrods to decorate 23 windows, using a number of angled mirrors to create a spherical effect based on the film. The window display uses “whispering window technology to share the sounds of space and Tchaikovsky” with shoppers on Brompton Road, whilst rapidly rotation mannequins were designed to reflect the “frenetic” pace of city life.
The main focus of the window display is the label's new accessories collection exclusive to Harrods, which features Pilati’s first ‘house bag’ for Ermenegildo Zegna Couture. One bag, named the Couture Bag, is available in three different types of leather in five color selections. The other, dubbed the Double Monk Shoe, is available in two colors.
The window display will remain up until October 19.
