Escada names Jörg Wahlers as finance chief

German fashion brand Escada has named Jörg Wahlers as its new chief financial officer and chief operating

officer.

Wahlers, former CFO at Villeroy & Boch, will join the Munich-based fashion label in May and will oversee the finance and operations of the luxury brand, as well as being responsible for IT, logistics, legal and human resources.

He will take over from interim CFO Felix Geiger who took over the role when Michael Bornicke stepped down.

The news follows the announcement last month from CEO Bruno Sälzer who announced his intention to step down from his role at the end of the year in order to "pursue new professional challenges". The firm has begun a search for a new chief executive.
