Escada promotes Daniel Wingate

German fashion house Escada has announced the promotion of Daniel Wingate,

current design director of the Escada mainline collection, to fashion director.

In his new role, Wingate will be responsible for the direction of the fashion house’s two brand lines, Escada and Escada Sport. He will still report to Bettina Hammerl, brand director of Escada, and Susanne Schaefer remains as brand director of Escada Sport.

In the short statement, the premium German womenswear brand also announced that the Escada Sport line would be expanding its offering, adding a luxury casualwear collection to complement the more formal Escada mainline.

From the Resort 2014 collection, which will roll out from November 2013, Escada Sport will focus on the product groups knitwear, jersey, denim and outerwear – in order to create a “relaxed, easy and sportive” look.
