Fashion and lifestyle retailer Esprit has launched a new collection of leather-free trainers for women, which carry a “Peta-Approved Vegan” tag,
promoting sustainability and cruelty-free fashion designs. The tags, which are available in English, French and German read: 'This product has been designed to be kind to animals. It is vegan approved by Peta, meaning that no animal has been involved in the production of this product.'
Animal rights group Peta first designed the logo to help consumers around the world identify cruelty-free products whilst out shopping. The logo helps showcase retailers and designers animal friendly designs, whilst helping raise awareness for sustainable and ethical fashion.
“Esprit's collection of 'Peta-Approved Vegan' trainers – made from eco-friendly faux leather and top-quality canvas – is a testament to how easy it is to get a stylish look that doesn't harm any animals,” commented Peta UK Associate director, Mimi Bekhechi. “Esprit sets a wonderful and ethical example of sustainability for retailers around the world to follow.”
The trainer collection is currently available online as well as at Esprit's stores in over 40 countries, including London's Regent Street flagship store.
