Esprit reveals former Zara director to be new Chief Product Officer

Just one week after Esprit announced Melody Harris-Jensbach,

chief product and design officer, was leaving the company end of this month, it was revealed that former Zara executive director, Rafael Pastor Espuch would assume the role. He will be joining Juan Chaparro, another ex-Zara worker who was hired this June as head buyer for Esprit.

Pastor Espuch previously worked for Inditex group and was executive director of Zara Basic for 12 years, one of the main women's wear line for the label. In his new role at Esprit, he will be in charge of product design and creation for all divisions of the brand and report directly to the company’s Chief Executive Officer Jose Manuel Martinez Gutierrez, who is also a former Inditex group employee.

Esprit recently reported their first annual loss in ten years and are currently investing in strengthen the company image to compete with other high street retailers.
