Alistair McGeorge has stepped down from his role of

executive chairman and passed over his responsibilities to the chief executive Anders Kristiansen. McGeorge, who joined New Look in 2011 and helped the company handle its debt issues, said in a previous statement: “We have already made substantial progress against these objectives and under the leadership of Anders I am confident that New Look will continue to thrive as it moves forward to becoming the successful International brand that it deserves to be.”

Although McGeorge may be stepping down in his role, his positive impact on New Look over the past two years will not be overlooked. New Look’s managing director, Guy Lister, has credited McGeorge as having a major impact on the company and bringing focus back to increasing profit margins and costs. His strong leadership skills helped turn the company around and improve sales both online and offline, which is reflected in their first quarter profits showing a EBITDA growth of 13.1 percent. Kristiansen has illustrated the exchange of roles as a “seamless handover,” and states he looks forward to have ongoing support and backing from an experience chairman.
