Farfetch.com to launch series of engaging initiatives for fall

London-based e-tailer Farfetch, has line up three initiatives to launch this fall.

Next month, the online fashion retailer is set to introduced a new global shopping app, Farfetch Discover for iPhone users. The new app will function similarly to the retailer’s website, linking users to different stores from around the world and will feature area-targeted editorial content.

Then, from this week onwards on through September 2, Farfetch will be hosting its third annual Superstore award, which was established to support the ongoing growth of independent boutiques around the world. The e-tailer created a panel of industry experts to select six emerging boutiques from around the world and customers are able to vote for their favourite.

Store nominees for the Superstore award include Cape Town' Merchants on Long, Seoul’s Koon With A View, Shanghai’s Alter boutique, Mahani in Dubai, Restir in Tokyo and Common People in Mexico City. One voter will also be selected to travel to the winning boutique and be given 1,500 dollars to spend in store. The winning independent retailer will then be added to Farfetch's online marketplace.

Lastly, on September 10, Farfetch is set to launch a curated collection which comprises of over 100 vintage items from iconic London store Biba. The capsule collection is a collaboration with Decades in Los Angeles, consists of key items such as the leopard-print coat worn by Twiggy in British Vogue in 1973, according to WWD.
