It seems that the ever popular new fashion genre; fashion as film is gaining ever more

momentum in an industry looking for alternative means to express their creations.

With next month seeing the beginning of NYFFF, New York Fashion Film Festival, short films will be screened at New York’s Visual Arts Theatre.

One nomination includes fashion animator, Quentin Jones’ film for the house of Chanel, which features ballet dancer, Emma Chadwick, dancing in Chanel’s S/S12 collection. A panel discussion will follow, hosted by US GQ contributor Glenn O'Brien.

Whilst fashion guru, Diane Pernet has announced some exciting developments for the A Shaded View of Fashion Film Festival, ASVOFF Barcelona’ (www.asvoff.es) will be held at the prestigious CaixaForum Barcelona from January 24 – 27, exploring the themes of fashion, style and beauty through the medium of the moving image.

Since its launch in 2008, ASVOFF has gained critical acclaim for encouraging both emerging and established artists to reconsider the way that fashion is presented and for challenging the conventional parameters of film.

ASVOFF has now reached such popularity, it debuts in Paris during fashion week and then goes on to tour the globe with subsequent screenings at prestigious institutions and events like the Guggenheim, the Barbican, Art Basel Miami and the Cannes Film Festival in a host of creative capitals such as New York, London, Tokyo, Milan, Moscow and Mexico City.
