Canary Wharf, which is home to over 200 shops, bars and

restaurants, is to celebrate sustainable fashion by being hosts of this year’s ‘Fashioning the Future’ Awards on November 10. The initiative, now in its third year, is the only student competition of its kind, designed and coordinated by the Centre of Sustainable Fashion at London College of Fashion, and this year’s awards are a showcase for work that celebrates ‘unique’ ways to create our futures.

Camille Waxer, Chief Administrative Officer at Canary Wharf Group comments: “Canary Wharf Group is recognised as one of the country’s top ‘green’ companies. Working with the London College of Fashion offers an opportunity to support both emerging designers and innovative ways to protect our future.”

The awards links together fashion institutions worldwide to bring together a global community of creative thinkers, designers, innovators and entrepreneurs - all aiming to help the fashion industry steer a course for the future. This year’s winners will be judged by a stellar panel, including: supermodel Erin O’Connor; Chairman of the British Fashion Council Harold Tillman; Eduardo Escabedo of the UN; author Lucy Siegle; and eco pioneer Jo Wood.

The ‘Fashioning the Future’ Awards take place at the East Wintergarden, Canary Wharf on November 10, hosted by Caryn Franklin; with the exhibition featuring all the finalists opening to the public from November 11 to 13.
