The Gallery International Fashion Fair has become known for its

selection of possibly the highest quality and most creative brands to be seen at a European Fashion fair and just as well for its Scandinavian character. The Danish Fashion fair has actually succeeded in getting almost all renowned Scandinavian brands under one roof, a feat which hasn’t been accomplished by any other organisation until now. Peter Jensen has been taking part since the summer of 2008 and the popular Danish label will again be present at this edition. We spoke to founder Peter Jensen about the label and his loyal participation in the Gallery International Fashion Fair.

About the Peter Jensen label
The reviews don’t lie. This year Peter Jensen celebrates his tenth anniversary and has an eventful and successful decade behind him. His label is highly desired amongst fashion lovers, it has been since day one. Currently Peter Jensen operates from London but his base is in Logstor, Denmark. Jensen made his debut on the Paris catwalks in 2000 with his first men’s line, causing an instant sensation with his versatility in various disciplines. Graphic design, embroidery and clever designs consistently come together for the technically driven and very quality conscious Jensen. His original collection was received exceptionally well and a women’s line followed in quick succession. After Paris came the London Fashion Week, where each season Peter Jensen delivers a well-attended show. His new collection can be admired during the Gallery International Fashion Fair. When did Peter Jensen take part in the Gallery for the first time and what prompted that decision? “Summer 2008. We wanted to take part in a Scandinavian fashion fair to increase visibility, meet our clients and improve sales. We therefore chose Gallery.”

What would you consider Gallery’s strengths to be?
“Gallery’s organisation does a fantastic job every season. The fair floor looks modern and fresh and the atmosphere is always good.”

What makes the Gallery in particular interesting for retailers?
“The special atmosphere and the exceptional range of leading labels.”

Why should Gallery visitors come to admire Peter Jensen in particular?
“That’s easy, because we believe we offer a collection that is completely finished, both in quality and in the field of design.”

What are your expectations for the coming edition?
“This season we expect a lot of orders from existing customers and also from new ones!”

What do you consider an absolute must-see in Copenhagen for foreign visitors?
“International visitors should certainly look for a restaurant that serves typical Danish dishes. Danish cuisine is fantastic!”
