Fashion Television off the air

Fashion Televion, the industry's original and first leading series dedicated

to all things fashion and design, has been suspended after 27 years.

The groundbreaking Canadian-based series, hosted by Jeanne Beker since April 1985, was instrumental in bringing high fashion to living rooms around the world.

Broadcaster Bell Media confirmed the cancellation, however stated it will develop FashionTelevisionChannel, a specialty fashion channel, in an aim to broaden it's appeal to viewers, advertisers and distributors.

Beker, who remains a contributing editor at the Toronto Star, took the viewers behind the scenes at fashion week in Paris, New York and London with exclusive interviews including Karl Lagerfeld, Gianni Versace and Alexander McQueen.
