Fashion Week date clashes

Fashion Week organisers have hit controversy as Autumn/Winter 12-13 show dates across
capital cities are scheduled to clash. It’s come following New York postponing its Fashion Week dates to September 13 - a week later than its traditional slot. The shift in dates would cause Milan's shows to overlap with that of London's.
"It is unacceptable for any of the four fashion cities to make date changes without collaborating fully with all the other territories," said British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman. "If an unfortunate situation arose whereby Milan clashed with London, as British Vogue we would have to support London."
Milan now has three options to consider; show in July alongside menswear shows, showing the week before New York, or clashing with London
"Camera Nazionale della Moda and Chambre Syndicale have announced dates for September 2012 that contravene the fashion week dates agreement of September 2008," the British Fashion Council said in a statement this morning. "We are in direct discussion with our counterparts and hope to resolve the matter over the next few weeks. We have a great deal of support from both international and domestic media and retailers in retaining the dates agreement."
