British department store group Fenwick has decided to shut down its online store during its website overhaul.

The former online store previously offered a selection of the goods available at Fenwick, but until its is ready for its relaunch, the group has decided to take its transactional platform offline.

A message on its website thanks its customers for shopping with them and adds: “The great response means we're working to bring you the full department store experience in the coming year. Our online shop will remain closed for renovations until then - but we'll make it worth the wait.”

Fenwick's website www.fenwick.co.uk, will remain live until its relaunch early 2015 and is currently being used to as a platform to promotion in-store offers, share store news and any other updates from the group.

The news of Fenwick's online relaunch follows the opening of Fenwick's flagship store 'Shoe Corner' earlier this month. The group previously invested one million pounds to renew its footwear department in its Bond Street store.
