Fit Britches, a high technology shapewear brand based in the UK, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to

support the brand’s launch in America, as well as bring manufacturing back to the UK.

The Bradford-based fitness and shapewear brand is being introduced to a target US customer base to help raise the 75,000 dollars it needs to enable phase one of Fit Britches plan to return manufacturing back to the UK. It is hoping to achieve that by acquiring a US customer base to back the brand financially by buying into the concept and pre-ordering products ahead of the official stateside release.

Fit Britches founder Farnaz Khan said: “We are passionate about supporting UK manufacturing, which works hand in hand with creating and developing jobs, skills, supply and the economy in the UK.

“We Brits are leaders in innovation, and I feel strongly about supporting and reviving the country’s buoyant textiles industry and heritage.”

By basing its manufacturing in the UK, Khan states that it will aid scientific developments at the brand and help it to introduce new products quicker.

Khan added: “Rapid testing and breakthroughs take time; it is essential for us to have everything as close to the needle as possible so that we can develop new products and bring them to market faster.”

The brand, which has been shortlisted for numerous awards including as ‘best shapewear brand of the year’ at the 2013 National Lingerie Awards, is set to launch in the US later this month.
