British heritage outerwear brand Puffa has named streetwear designer
and founder of young fashion brand Fly53, Will Rigg, as design and brand consultant to help revamp the label.Rigg, who left his role as Fly53 creative director last year, will be working with Puffa to combine the “heritage and technical elements with contemporary references of colour, shape and fabric development to bring the brand back to life” and to help make the label “relevant for today whilst always retaining its rich heritage to keep it relevant for tomorrow” the brand said in a statement.
The reworked Puffa will showcase for autumn'14 and will feature an array of new styles, including the Jasmine bomber jacket, the hooded Alfie and the Farringdon, a double layer, two-in-one jacket that has a nod to urban and street culture. All incorporate more technical elements and contemporary design.
Puffa will also be building upon the success of last season’s collaboration with Harris Tweed, with a new collection for 2014 that includes women’s styles and numerous Harris Tweed fabrics. Sixteen womenswear pieces such as biker and varsity jackets will sit alongside sixteen menswear items.
