Marks and Spencer’s former ‘Knicker Queen’ Jane Schaffer,

who quit the high street retailer after just three months, is seeking a 1 million pounds payout.

Schaffer, former creative director of US lingerie chain Victoria’s Secret, joined Marks and Spencer in January 2013 as director of lingerie and beauty, but resigned in April following a dispute regarding her job description.

According to the Financial Times, Schaffer is now seeking compensation from the retailer of “well in excess” of 1 million pounds as when appointed she had agreed a two-year package to compensate her for 70 percent of the shares and shares options built up over five years at Victoria’s Secret.

Schaffer is claiming that as Marks and Spencer wanted her to begin the role as soon as possible, she had resigned in October, rather than wait until January.

According to the FT, Marks and Spencer said: “This matter is in the hands of our lawyers and we have absolutely no further comment to make.”
