Former My-Wardrobe CEO joins footwear retailer Bata

David Worby, former My-Wardrobe chief executive, has joined Switzerland-based

footwear brand Bata as its multichannel director.

Worby, who left luxury online retailer My-Wardrobe last year after the business was bought in a pre-pack administration deal, joined Bata last month in the newly created position to help “boost” the company’s multichannel offering, according to Retail Week.

“We’ve got eight transactional sites across Europe under country banners like Italy which are all at the early stage of e-commerce,” Worby told Retail Week. “The plan is to harmonise these sites and bring them under one Bata.com website.”

Bata is a global footwear business with more than 5,000 retail stores operating in over 60 countries including France, Germany and Italy in Europe, as well as Canada, Australia and Malaysia.
