French Connection's finance director departs

French Connection’s group finance director Roy Naismith has

stepped down from the fashion retailer after 12 years in the role.

The long-standing finance director will leave with immediate effect, and the retailer has confirmed that they are seeking a replacement and that they expect to make an announcement “in the near future”.

Chairman and chief executive Stephen Marks said: “Roy has been a key member of the French Connection team for a considerable period of time. He has also been instrumental in providing strategic insight on the implementation of our recent initiatives, which are beginning to show progress.

“With these measures now in place, Roy has decided that now is the right time for him to step down. French Connection is extremely grateful for Roy’s dedication and hard work and wishes him well in his future.”

French Connection has been undergoing an overhaul of the business over the past year, which has included restructuring the management team, as well as appointing new heads of retail, design and marketing. Following Naismith departure the retailer will be able to revamp its finance department.
