Alongside the Sue Timney and the design of Timney-Fowler exhibition, the Fashion and Textile

Museum will host several talks and activities. On display until 27 February 2011, Sue Timney’s company Timney-Fowler is best known for its distinctive graphic black and white imagery. The activities programme includes a Christmas shopping evening, talk and book signing with Sue Timney, and workshops including ‘Quilting’ and ‘Make Do and Mend’.

2010 is the 30th anniversary of Timney-Fowler and this exhibition will follow both Sue's career as a designer, her work with Timney-Fowler and her latest projects. It explores the creative pathway Sue has taken as a designer through her career as well as examining the history and themes of this world-recognised name, from the first fabrics created from Sue’s college work to her current individual designs. The exhibition will chart Sue’s journey from her early work that was monochromatic to later designs where she included colour, photographic printing and mixed prints. Set against a special backdrop created by Sue, it will bring the FTM alive including a wall of fabrics and samples; products; scarves and shirts bearing her distinctive designs.

There is new book for sale at FTM called ‘Sue Timney Making Marks & The Design of Timney Fowler’, which is published by Pointed Leaf Press as a monograph.
