Copenhagen has established itself as the second biggest trade show city in the world with more than

2.700 brands represented at the four competing fairs; Vision, CIFF/CIFF Kids, CPH Kids and Gallery. More than 40.000 people have visited the fairs Thursday to Saturday. And Gallery had a record number of visitors.

Gallery int. Fashion Fair had 12045 visitors this season, which is a 5% increase from February 2011 and 10% increase since August last year. 76% of the buyers were Scandinavian and 22% the rest of Europe. Amongst the buyers at Gallery were Galeries Lafayette, Liberty, Harvey Nichols, Barneys NYC, LuisaViaRoma, NK, Stockmann, Yoox Group, Zalando, Selfridges, Browns Fashion, ASOS, Net-a-Porter, Urban Outfitters, Mr. Porter, Matches.com, mywardrobe.com as well as the Chinese buyer Alterstyle.com and the Japanese buying group Marubni.

Despite a record number of exhibiting brands at this year’s fair, CEO Christian Gregersen from Gallery states: “The most important thing is not the number of exhibiting brands, but the increasing number of high caliber, Scandinavian and international fashion buyers that have visited Gallery this year. And that my phone did not ring for 3 days – meaning that the exhibitors were busy doing business”.

Gallery had a record number of 340 brands from 20 different countries. Among the new exhibitors were Wood Wood, YMC, Levis Vintage, Liebeskind and French Connection just to name a few. Furthermore, Gallery presented 14 designer shows, which means that The Gallery Show Scene has presented more than a 100 fashion shows during the last four years. Among the new catwalk shows were French Connection and Peter Jensen from the UK, Odeur, Stylein and Johanna Pihl from Sweden, the H&M Award 2012 winner Stine Riis and the Citroën DS5 2012 design winner Tabernacle Twins by Vibe Lundemark.

Copenhagen is the only city in the world where all the competing fairs have gathered the entirety of their collective brands on one website – www.cfw.dk - to make it easier for buyers to navigate Copenhagen Fashion Week. For the first time the website is also available in Chinese.

Next Gallery fair will be 31. January to the 2. February 2013.
