Once again Gallery International Fashion Fair has managed to come up with a scoop, this time in the form of a quick preview of the popular fashion fair. The international press and buyers from the major fashion houses have been invited to come in and scan Scandinavia’s best designers’ collections within a 2 hour period on Tuesday 28th January 2014. A perfect kick off to Copenhagen Fashion Week.

The stylish Hotel D’Angleterre – right in the very centre of Copenhagen – represents the backdrop for this unique event. The idea? A friendly quickscan of selected items by selected designers. Ensuring it’s impossible for both the press and buyers to miss the crème de la crème and allowing them to acquire a clear image of Scandinavia’s finest ...

Gallery has been known for its extraordinarily top quality exhibitions right from day 1. The best design driven Scandinavian fashion brands are participating and the waiting list is growing each and every season, even during these turbulent times. Names like Wood Wood, Hope, Carin Wester, Ann-Sofie Back, Peter Jensen, V Ave Shore Repair, House of Dagmar, Whyred, Wackerhaus, Soulland, Designers Remix and Norse Project are just a small selection of the familiar whole. Of course there are going to be some newcomers too, just like every past season. This will include Our Legacy, Common Affairs and Rasmus Wingaard, very promising labels which will be making an appearance in Gallery in January.

A worldwide renowned platform The very best of Scandinavia under 1 roof: this has proven to be a formula for success. But what makes Gallery complete is the mixture with international brands like Kitsuné Tee, Max.Tan, Damir Doma Silent, WLG by Giorgio Brato, A.Friend by A.F. Vandervorst, Thom Krom and Jo No Fui. This therefore doesn’t just make Gallery the strongest platform for Scandinavian fashion (worldwide), but – alongside fashion shows like Pitti in Florence and Las Vegas USA – is also one of the most renowned fashion fairs in the world. The visitors were very well balanced last season. Around 50% were from Scandinavia and the remaining 50% were from all over the world. Buyers from iconic names like Barneys, Luisa Via Roma, Colette, Harrods, Liberty, Traffic, ASOS, Net-à-porter, Tomorrowland, Galleries Lafayette and Podium Market; they all want to take part.

The excellent ambiance for writing orders has been praised, but Copenhagen as a town certainly has too. The town centre is literally bustling, especially during the CFW and there’s certainly no gastronomical issues with restaurants like Noma and Amass! Never visited the CFW before? Perhaps a good resolution for 2014? Then you can instantly realise it in January!
