Heritage fashion and lifestyle label Gant has appointed Fergus Patterson as managing director

for UK and Ireland, as the brand plots UK expansion with the news of its first Gant Rugger store.

Joining from British knitwear brand Wolsey, Patterson takes on the role from Tracy Stone, who was promoted in September to the newly created role of global sales director. Patterson will report to Stone, and will be responsible for driving the growth of the label.

Commenting on the appointment, Stone said: “Fergus’s experience running and building fashion and lifestyle brands is a perfect match for the MD role at Gant.

“His multi-channel background, passion and experience in leading a creatively driven business are the skills that we were looking for.”

Patterson added: “Gant has such a promising future. I have watched the brand evolved over the years and I look forward to building on the strength of the existing platform in the UK and Ireland. I am pleased to join the team and be part of the brand journey.”

In addition to the appointment, Gant also announced that it plans to open its first standalone store for its menswear label Gant Rugger in the UK next March. The store will be located on Beak Street, Soho in London and will mark the line’s fifth standalone store internationally.
