George at Asda to expand collection with plus-size range

Asda's apparel branch, George, is said to be preparing to launch its first

plus-size range this fall. The debut collection will contain 16 pieces, with sizes ranging from 18 to 32. George’s currently fashion range largest size offering is 24.

George at Asda currently offers an plus-size range from a third-party label, named 'Threads,' which is available online in sizes 16 to 28 and will be replaced by George’s own line. The plus-size collection was set to launch this week, but line's introduction has been delayed, reported Drapers.

The new collection will offer basic items, with a trendy twist as well as more formal and lounge wear. If the plus size collection is well received, it is thought that Asda will expand to line include 35 pieces in time for spring 2015.

George is also set to increase the sizing offering for its Wonderfit jeans range to a size 30 by the middle of September.
