Italian fashion house Giambattista Valli is launching a new ready-to-wear label, Giamba at Milan Fashion Week

in September.

The new line, which has been named after his nickname, is not a diffusion line but more of a secondary line that will sit alongside his eponymous label Giambattista Valli. It will share the “timeless, ageless and effortless spirit” of the mainline, while expressing a “different yet complementary philosophy, stemming from the need to develop another aspect of his personality” the statement announcing the line confirmed.

"There is also a playful, underground and sexy side in me and in my designs that you will see in the Giamba line," Valli told WWD. "I've been thinking about it for a while and waited for the right time, and now it's matured. I am really very happy."

Valli will produce two seasonal collections, which will be show during fashion week, and two pre-collections for Giamba each year. The distribution will target around 500 retail outlets globally, reaching the Giambattista Valli collections on the main floors of major department stores and main specialty stores.
