During a celebratory ceremony held at the Freemasons Hall

in London on the 4th of December, winners of the UK Lingerie Awards 2013 were announced. Over 400 intimate apparel experts and specialist, as well as a number of consumers were invited to the ceremony, which was hosted by Millie Clode.

The UK Lingerie Awards consisted of nineteen categories this year and it was department store Debenhams who was voted the UK's Favourite Lingerie Retailer of the Year by the public, while Gossard managed to win two awards, the UK's Favourite Lingerie Brand and Lingerie Brand of the Year. Selfridges was named Department store of the Year and Maison Close was voted Boudoir Lingerie Brand of the Year.

Special Lifetime Achievement Award went to Gillian Proctor, who was honored for her long career in the lingerie industry and her winning efforts to help shape the next generation of lingerie designers. She is currently the Programme Course Leader for De Montfort University's Fashion Contours Course and the chair of the International Institute of Intimate Apparel.

Sarah Blackman, editor of the Award's organizer business magazine Lingerie Insight said: “This year's list of winners is a true testament to the talent, creativity and sheer determination that can be found within the UK lingerie industry. The creation, and indeed retail, of intimate apparel can be a tricky business and tonight has quite rightly applauded the people working in the industry who are the best at what they do.”

Blackman highlighted that fact that Gossard won both Lingerie Brand of the Year and UK's favourite Lingerie Brand from both the public vote and from the panel of judges, which “shows how switched on UK lingerie shoppers are, and why it is vital that we get them excited about what they wear beneath their clothes.”
