Former Hugo Boss, Armani Black Label and Salvatore Ferragamo designer Graeme Black has

been named as creative director of Turkish label Desa, as part of a one-off collaboration for autumn/winter 2012-13. Scottish-born Black plans to develop the label, a household name in Turkey, building on its reputation as a leading purveyor of luxury leather goods - from clothes to accessories.

"What happened in Italy in terms of leather goods is what's happening in Turkey now," Black says. "There is such a focus in Istanbul on creating beautiful leather products - you can source phenomenal fabrics at great prices. It's surprising what you can do when you really research something. This is about building on the lifestyle side of Desa - I really do think people will want to be associated with what the brand represents, which is really high quality."

As well as having previously worked as Hugo Boss creative consultant and Salvatore Ferragamo creative director, Black launched his own label in 2005, which he closed to consult for different brands under the name Graeme Black Design Consultancy.
