Bibi Chemnitz‘s surprisingly successful debut at Gallery. In the context of
internationalisation…Greenland has also presented itself during the Copenhagen Fashion Week and, moreover, it was done with verve! Designer Bibi Chemnitz did nothing by halves and debuted at Gallery with a spectacular fashion show at ‘The Old Stock Exchange’. Besides which, her collection could also be admired on the Gallery fair floor and that did her no harm at all. Buyers from across the globe were impressed by her collection and even a Chinese chain store surrendered to her. The Greenlander will also be one of the many at the following edition of the Gallery International Fashion Fair.
The decision to show her collection in Copenhagen seems to have been the right one. Bibi Chemnitz launched her label in 2006 and was basically an international success from day one. Retailers from New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong and other metropolises noticed her and Bibi exhibited at fairs in countries including Germany, France, the Netherlands and Italy. Last season however, Bibi Chemnitz decided to focus primarily on the Copenhagen Fashion Week. Her ambition is to position herself better in Scandinavia and Greenland. The opportunity to show her collection on the catwalk at The Old Stock Exchange came thus as a gift from heaven.
“The Copenhagen Fashion Week is the perfect opportunity to show my designs to my beloved customers. I have the advantage of it being a ‘home game’ and besides which, I got the unique chance of going on the catwalk. It is simply easier for my customers from Greenland to visit a Danish fair and I wanted to take advantage of that chance”, says Chemnitz. The fashion show and her designs have been exceptionally well-received by her fellow citizens, but certainly also by buyers from far across the border. Due to the opportunity she received and the sponsorship she obtained from Tele-post.gl, Bibi has since announced that she will most probably show her Sophomore collection for Spring/Summer 2014 at the forthcoming Gallery International Fashion Fair.
