Gucci’s Chime for Change campaign for girls’ and women’s empowerment,

which was founded earlier this year, has released a 90-day update on the projects it has helped support with the 4.4 million dollars raised from its Sound of Change concert in June.

The Italian fashion house has revealed that the money raised from the 50,000 ticket sales to its concert that featured Beyonce and Madonna has gone on to help 260 projects in 81 countries, across 87 non-profit partners.

The scheme, which aims to offer support and tools to girls and women to empower themselves and their communities, has helped 75 sex trafficking victims to be rescued, provided mentoring for 30 young women in the UK to help them cope with domestic trauma, allowed 340 young girls in India to attend education workshops, and has provided 655 children in Brazil to receive supplied to continue their schooling.

A number of healthcare projects have also been given funds including providing 5,000 patients in Afghanistan access to healthcare and education for one month, and educating 450 young women in Peru about HIV/AIDS and pregnancy.

Frida Giannini, Gucci's creative director and the co-founder of Chime for Change, said: "It was important to us from the beginning to have the opportunity to share these stories of change with those who have joined the campaign. It is an inspirational moment, to be able to hear and see the results of our collective effort."

High profile supporters of the scheme have also personally advocated for and committed funds to projects important to them, including Madonna who is supporting the Afghan Institute of Learning to provide 21 mobile literacy classes for 175 students and Halle Berry supported the Jenesse Center, which hosted a health and wellness event for 100,000 girls and women.
