Hans Schmitt joins SuperGroup board

SuperGroup has appointed Hans Schmitt, managing director of international and wholesale at the

company, to its board with effect from May 1.

Schmitt joined SuperGroup in June 2013 and is responsible for the company’s wholesale business in both the UK and internationally. Prior to SuperGroup, he served as president EMEA, UK, for Warnaco plc between 2010 and 2012, responsible for brands such as Calvin Klein and held senior positions at Hugo Boss AG between 1997 and 2010.

SuperGroup chairman Peter Bamford said: "Hans has brought extensive international experience to SuperGroup plc. His appointment to the board reflects his personal contribution to date and the significance of our international growth strategy."

Schmitt added: "After eight months in the role I am more convinced than ever in the size of the opportunity for the Superdry brand and feel I can play an important part in helping the team to deliver it."
