Dutch value retailer, Hema, is set to open its first store in the UK on Thursday, in London's Victoria Place. Later this month, another store

will open in Kingston and a third store is set to open in Bromley this July.

“We are incredibly proud that we are able to open a store at this beautiful and prominent location,” commented Ronald van Zetten, Chief Executive Officer of Hema in a press release on retailer's store opening in at British underground and railway station, Victoria.

As Hema is still largely unknown in the UK market, the store will offer the same logical interior concept as its counter parts in France, Germany and Spain. For example, in the 'study' area there will be stationary, and in the 'beauty' area personal care and cosmetic products will be offered.

“Hema has the ambition to continue expanding within Europe over the next few years, and our first store opening in the UK is a good step forward,” added van Zetten. Hema currently operates over 660 stores in 7 countries.
