Dutch value retailer is set to begin targeting UK consumers online this September with the launch of its webshop.
The online store, Hemashop.com, is set to offer the retailer's full product assortment including office supplies, clothing, beauty and cosmetic as well as cooking utensils.
Hema first entered the British market this June with the opening of its first brick and mortar store in London's Victoria Place, followed by additional store openings in Kingston and Bromley last month.
The value retail chain, owned by British Lion Capital, has been struggling over the past few months with Hema's revenue declining 5 percent in 2013. However the group hopes that an e-commerce push will help bolster slowing sales.
Hema.nl currently ships to internationally to shoppers within the European Union and the value retail has launched specific online platforms for consumers in France, Germany and Belgium. Hema is also preparing to launch a webshop in Spain in the near future.
