Hilary Alexander named as Fast Fashion ambassador

Fast Fashion London, the international trade exhibition show,

has announced renowned fashion journalist Hilary Alexander as Ambassador for its inaugural Young Designer Competition.

The competition is open to all final year 2012 graduates and gives aspiring fashion designers the chance to exhibit their graduate collection at Fast Fashion London’s exhibition at London Olympia from October 23-24.

To enter all entrants must submit a selection of imagery from their portfolios accompanied by a summary on their collection, which will then be judged by a panel of industry experts headed up by the Alexander, the competition’s ambassador.

Alexandra Demirdjian of Fast Fashion London said: “With a passion for aspiring fashion and designers, Hilary was the perfect choice for the Young Designer Competition and we are thrilled to have her on board.”

Remarking on her latest role, Alexander added: “Fashion graduates are one of our most valuable talents and we must acknowledge and support young designers in these times. I’m delighted to be presiding over the judging panel for the Young Designer Competition and am looking forward to seeing the entries.”

The competition has been introduced as the exhibition, which promotes “quality, proximity and reactivity”, builds on its strong foundations that aims to provide fashion retailers with an introduction to Euro-Mediterranean suppliers.

The deadline for entry is October 5 via the Fast Fashion London website, and the five shortlisted finalists will exhibit at the exhibition that is set to take place at the Olympia National Hall from October 23-24, before one is chosen as the first Fast Fashion Young Designer of the Year.
