Hobbs announces the appointment of Clare Dobbie as
Marketing Director, to head up the brand, marketing and online teams as well as help drive the international expansion plans.
“We are delighted that Dobbie has joined the team at Hobbs and her appointment underlines our commitment to realise the full potential of the Hobbs brands,” says Nicky Dulieu, Hobbs CEO. “We look forward to her helping achieve our multichannel and international ambition, and to further develop our British contemporary designer fashion heritage.”
Dobbie was previously at Asos as Global Marketing Director where she was responsible for the retailer’s 80 strong marketing team. During her two years there, she spearheaded Asos’s global brand positioning, and built a fully integrated in-house creative team. While Dobbie was on board the revenue soared 56% to £217m in the half year to 30 September 2011. Prior to Asos, Dobbie consulted with the highly regarded creative agency ‘Mother’ and was the initial vice-president of marketing for Europe at Gap where she was responsible for setting up the European marketing team and launching Banana Republic in London.
Hobbs last week announced an £18m investment in a multichannel program to develop both in store and online customer experience. Hobbs.co.uk began to trade internationally during AW11, and in the last 3 months strong sales demand has been noted from Australia, US, Germany and France.
