A T-shirt which feature a controversial quote from supermodel Kate Moss has been

pulled from sale at Hudson's Bay Company, after the retailer was criticized by consumers on Twitter and other social media sites for promoting eating disorders.

Designed by Canadian artist Christopher Lee Sauve, the T-shirt bears Kate Moss's infamous statement from a 2009 interview with WWD: “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” Although Sauve argues that his reasoning behind the T-shirt design was to highlight “the absurdity of fashion”, consumers from around the world believe that the T-shirt is a form of “pro-anorexia”.

After the Canadian retailer received a number of complaints surrounding the questionable T-shirt, Hudson's Bay Company decided to have it removed from all stores as well as online. “We truly value our relationship with our customers and take their concerns seriously and we recognize that many took offense to the item,” said the retailer in a statement.

“In this particular instance, while we respect the designer's art, due to the overwhelming response and the sensitivity of the matter, we made the decision to promptly remove the T-shirts from our stores and from thebay.com.”

Sauve issued a statement as well following the slew of criticism his designed received. “I fully understand and comprehend the severity of an eating disorder and I do not condone celebrating such pain. My sincerest apologies to anyone that I have offended with my designs. I believe wholeheartedly in my work, however, and I can't apologise for that.”
