Rumours are running rife that Raf Simons is to replace

Stefano Pilati at Yves Saint Laurent.

It started when Suzy Menkes, fashion editor of the International Herald Tribune, said that Simons is to become creative director of the luxury label, in her latest Jil Sander show review. Vogue.com also speculated an announcement would be made today, but then later said it was unconfirmed, with YSL vehemently denying there was to be any change in its creative leadership.

Earlier this year a similar campaign started on Twitter, with a Kenzo pr stating Pilato was leaving the house after his AW11 show.

Whilst it looks unlikely that Raf Simons is to lead the house of Yves Saint Laurent, where there is smoke, there's fire, and this has been a notorious year for announcing creative changes at the luxury fashion houses.
